Focus Questions for the 3 modes

In Languages and Children there were MANY ideas for incorporating the 3 modes. Choose 1 activity for each mode (interpersonal, interpretive, presentational) that you really like. Summarize each activity and tell me why those 3 appealed to you.

In the Brandl chapter on listening, what are the steps he suggests to make video a much more "comprehensible" practice in the classroom?
How do you make group activities more effective, according to both authors?
How do you make a reading selection more comprehensible? List the strategy possibilities.

You may post the results of these questions on the blog, a separate piece of paper, or you may do a reflection log instead using the sample in the Course Guide.

The focus in this textbook is COMMUNICATION and TASK-BASED LANGUAGE LEARNING. In your own words, please define what both of these terms mean.

Describe what an example of an activity in the elementary classroom might look like that is communicative and task-based.
